Cambria Partners with Luxe Interiors + Design and Jiun Ho Inc. on Innovative Quartz Furnishings and Decor

NEW YORK, NY, September 23, 2016 — Cambria, the first and only family-owned, American-made natural quartz producer in North America, unveiled unprecedented, unique quartz design objects at “What’s New, What’s Next” at the New York Design Center. What’s New, What’s Next is the season’s most anticipated event for top editors, designers and manufacturers, highlighting what’s next in design through new ideas, materials and products. In collaboration with Jiun Ho Inc. and Luxe Interiors + Design, Cambria challenged five renowned designers to create one-of-a-kind “Cambria Designer Objects,” ranging from furniture to accessories and decor.

Designers Benjamin Cruz, Bennett Leifer, Lisa Kanning, Jiun Ho and design firm D’AquinoMonaco, created quartz furnishings and decor leveraging Cambria’s extensive design palette. Each designer developed unique pieces based on the latest industry trends and personal inspiration, to create a freestanding or tabletop object. In partnership with each designer, Cambria brought each concept to life at its state-of-the-art quartz processing facility in Minnesota. Five dramatic and imaginative pieces were created, all pushing the boundaries of quartz design and fabrication.

The “Cambria Designer Objects” will be on display in Jiun Ho’s new showroom in the New York Design Center until September 30. After the unveiling, they will travel across North America for further viewing opportunities at Cambria Galleries in San Francisco, Toronto, Palm Desert and Minneapolis.

“We are extremely impressed with the vision demonstrated by this elite group of designers. Their designs are simply beautiful, and serve as inspiration for infinite design possibilities with Cambria,” said Summer Kath, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Cambria. “As the industry leader in quartz, we encourage experimentation and creativity beyond traditional countertop surfaces. These pieces demonstrate the beauty of natural stone, the inspiring artistry of our design palette, the ingenuity in Cambria’s fabrication technology and the skilled craftsmanship of our employees.”

“I have long respected the innovation and quality consistently accomplished by Cambria and Luxe Interiors + Design, and this unique collaboration showcases those values,” said Jiun Ho, designer at Jiun Ho Inc. “The “Cambria Designer Objects” showcase the depth and durability of Cambria, as well as its captivating color palette.”

Marion Table by Benjamin Cruz

This narrow accent table features alluring Galloway™ perforated with hexagons on all three sides in a casual, flowing pattern. An accent bar wrapped in Moore & Giles leather adds an intriguing visual and textural contrast. The Marion Table is intended to serve as an accent table positioned between two club chairs, with the nonporous quartz tabletop providing an ideal surface for a cocktail and hor d’oeuvres plate.

Kristina Table by Bennett Leifer

The Kristina Table, designed for use as an occasional table, features a delicate glass top perched above a structured base composed of six layers of distinct Cambria designs (Whitney™, Templeton™, Seagrove™, Carrick™, Parys™ and Fieldstone™) with an outer wrap of crisp White Cliff™. The glass tabletop allows the viewer to look “into” the depth of the base itself to observe its dramatic sculptural curves and the varied tones and textures of the Cambria layers. The Kristina Table was inspired by the beauty of Antelope Canyon in Arizona, and the playful contrast Leifer noted between the rigidity of natural stone and the fluidity of the soft lines of a desert canyon.

Si02 Candelabra by D’AquinoMonaco Inc.
The Si02 Candelabra combines elegant, marbled Brittanicca™ and select surfaces of polished brass, creating a bold and sophisticated mix of materials. Perfect for an iconic centerpiece, the piece serves as an interpretation of natural quartz clusters, with sharp architectural lines and multi-faceted forms of the sculptural candle holders nesting to create a single figure, held together by their shared form.

Calama Lounger, Salta Table and Geisel Lamp by Jiun Ho
This modern three-piece furniture collection includes a Blackwood™ and Galloway™ lounger set, a Princetown™ side table and a Swanbridge™, New Brighton™ and Blackwood™ floor lamp. The collection was inspired by Brutalist architecture and the natural world, serving as an expression of the similarities found in geological formations and the Brutalist style. The contemporary furnishings feature smooth, captivating planes of natural quartz combined with the rough aggregate used in concrete construction, achieving an eye-catching balance of imposing forces.

Telluride Candle Holder by Lisa Kanning
Nine thin, intricate layers of velvety brown Hazelford™ are stacked and rotated clockwise from the previous layer in irregular curved patterns, achieving the rugged feel of natural cliffs. Inspired by the stepped mountain cliffs of the majestic Rockies in Telluride, Colorado, this asymmetrical, layered candle holder is designed to bring an organic, natural feel to any space it inhabits.
