Material Bank is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to implement new file-based point to point integrations, API based integrations, and ETL transformations. In this role, you will analyze, develop, integrate, and support operations related to our corporate Enterprise and SAAS Applications (ESB, Integration and ETL) and Middleware environments. This hands-on role demands strong analytical, data modeling, and programming background in Linux, Java, and Talend/MuleSoft, or similar technology stack.

The Senior Integration Engineer must be a self-directed learner who can quickly adapt to new technologies and business processes, executing projects for internal customers. In this role, you will help maximize the value of IT systems investments by combining strong business acumen, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. As the integration lead, you will proactively partner with the business and technical teams.

What you’ll do

Applications/Coding

  • Provide hands-on application design, development, and support for Enterprise Applications, SAAS and Integration (Integration, Middleware)
  • Participate in the full application life cycle (design, development, testing, deployment, support)
  • Monitor application service levels, providing ongoing support and systems/process improvements
  • Review architecture and designs, recommending coding solutions
  • Design and develop reusable code using an industry-leading open source Integration/SOA Suite (Talend, MuleSoft, etc.)

ETL and ESB

  • Develop and implement the ESB to optimize communication and interaction across platforms
  • Develop and support ETL services (i.e. data transformation and mapping, message and event queuing and sequencing, etc.)
  • Upgrade ETL infrastructure to industry standard, as needed
  • Ensure optimal use of resources via the ESB (i.e. routing of message exchange between services, deployment and versioning of services, etc.)

Business Acumen

  • Interact with the business user community to help correctly scope implementations
  • Identify innovative solutions to business issues during technical development
  • Research new software products, participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes for IT applications
  • Create use-case models, requirements specifications, business process, and data-flow diagrams to document function solution design

Continuous Improvement

  • Maximize encapsulation of functions and processes through the use of the enterprise message model
  • Contribute towards production support events (i.e. Business Continuity Process tests, security enhancements, password updates, etc.)
  • Perform in-depth testing and other post-implementation support activities for modified and new systems

Miscellaneous

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of overall experience in Information Technology
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience as an integration engineer, or similar role
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience with:
    • JAVA
    • SOAP and Rest API
    • XML and XSLT
    • Back-office systems
    • Linux and MySQL database
    • All phases of SDLC, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies
    • Data migration and ETL tools, such as Talend or Mulesoft
    • JIRA and Confluence
    • Scripting languages, including JavaScript
    • Automated testing tools
    • Encryption techniques for data at rest and in-motion
  • Previous experience with AWS, Redshift and Salesforce integrations
  • Talend or MuleSoft developer certification preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
