We’ve rounded up photos of South Florida’s coolest workspaces and learned that there’s usually a purpose behind all the alluring artwork, creative designs, unusual furniture, awesome views, scooters, fish tanks and, yes, even the pingpong, pool and foosball tables.
It’s about marketing: making sure you’re customers see success when they come by the office. And it’s about productivity and creativity: keeping your employees engaged by creating an appealing environment.
This is especially true for millennials, who’ve grown up distracted by multiple mobile devices. The drab walls of a traditional office can bore them into oblivion. And if they’re not having fun, they’re just not feeling the passion.
Much of the “coolness” of the modern office is also driven by the open workspace trend.
SANDOW, the company that owns design-driven brands, including high-end magazines, opened its new headquarters in the Research Park at FAU in 2012. It needed design-driven spaces to foster cross-pollination between brands and employees.
